JOHN F. ROMANOV,

SENIOR ARCHITECT, PRESIDENT
John Romanov commenced the practice of architecture in Montreal in 1977 after graduating from the McGill School of Architecture.  Subsequently, he progressed with his career in Calgary in 1980.  In 1984, he returned east to Toronto and in 1986 he founded the firm of Romanov Romanov Architects Incorporated.
As the President of the firm, John has personally directed the design and implementation of a variety of residential, commercial, industrial, assembly and recreational projects.  The broad range and scope of the projects for which the firm has been commissioned is a testimony to John's design and administrative skills.
The philosophy employed by Romanov Romanov Architects Incorporated, and exemplified in John's work, is to identify the specific requirements of the Client and to satisfy these in the most meaningful and expeditious manner.  This entails a most detailed approach to design, a thorough investigation of all by-laws and code requirements and the rigorous testing of all proposals to cost constraints.

GIL NACU

Gilbert's architectural education began with a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines. Since arriving in Canada he has furthered his architectural education with a diploma in Architectural Technology from Centennial College and with interior design studies at Toronto's International Academy of Design.

Gilbert has a long, varied and international work history within the field of architecture. This history includes time spent with Al Jarboa Consulting Engineers in Dubai and Saudi Arabia, where his work was focused around modernist design and Arabic architectural fusion. Later, he returned to Asia to work with firms Kajima Corp. and Puspajaya Senderhan Berhad. This period included work on the Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia, the Hong Kong International Airport, and the Jorong Baru Residential Condominium in Singapore. In addition to these marquee projects, Gil has also participated in the production of residential projects in Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

As a team member with Romanov Romanov Architects Inc., Gil brings to the Firm his rich experiences in both architecture and culture.

GISELLE MUJICA POCAY

DIP. ARCH. TECH.

Born in Valencia, Venezuela, Giselle commenced her career at Jose Antonio Paez University where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Architecture in 2007. Fluent in Spanish, she has worked for a variety of architectural firms in her native country, helping her to gain experience in architectural design, planning, and project coordination.

In 2014, she moved to Canada to grow her knowledge in sustainable construction technologies. To this end, Giselle completed the Architectural Technologist program at Centennial College, gaining both an understanding of local construction techniques and further developing her leadership skills. This combination, along with her previous knowledge of architectural design, has resulted in the realization of successful projects.

Giselle's role at Romanov Romanov Architects Inc. is as an architectural designer/technologist. For Giselle, architecture means the ability to create the perfect balance between art and technology, resulting in spaces that inspire others.

ANNA-MARIA ROMANOV,
OAA, SARP

SENIOR ARCHITECT

Anna Romanov commenced her architectural career in Poland, during her graduate and undergraduate studies. Thereafter, newly graduated with a Masters of Architecture from the University of Warsaw in 1981, she advanced her career abroad, practicing under several international firms in Europe and North America.

As a Senior Architect and Principal of Romanov Romanov Architects Inc. since 1994, Anna has developed a portfolio with a range of clients and commissions, with projects ranging from Graphic Design to Interior Design, and from Custom Residential Design to mid-scale Commercial and Institutional Design. Anna has focused her over thirty-five year career designing unique and diverse projects that reflect her creative insight into the meaning of aesthetics, functionality and client intent.

FENG [LUI] LIU,
LICENSED TECH. OAA, LEED AP

SENIOR ARCHITECTUAL DESIGNER/TECHNOLOGIST
Lui began his career working as an Architect in his native China, where he was responsible for the co-ordination of projects of varying scales.  His portfolio of works include both governmental and institutional projects, along with several multi -storey residential buildings.  Lui acted as Designer, Supervisor and Project Manager for several of those developments.
Lui's role as the senior technical authority at Romanov Romanov Architects Inc. has him working closely with owners, consultants and trades. In his work, Lui combines his theoretical background in Architectural Design with his incomparable abilities in CADD software, facilitating a project's success from design to completion.

NATHAN DONALDSON

DIP. ARCH. TECH.

With a diploma in Classical Animation from Oakville’s Sheridan College, Nathan began his career working as a background designer for animated television programs.

Later, his affinity for design was joined with an interest in environmental issues. This combination resulted in a change of focus that eventually led to a diploma from Centennial College’s Architectural Technology Co-Op program. Since entering the AEC industry, Nathan has been successful in bringing the skills and sensibilities gathered in animation to bear upon building projects, particularly in the form of 3D renderings and 4D construction animations.

In bringing architectural projects to life, Nathan's particular interest is in developing efficient workflows and other advanced techniques that best leverage the incredible power and sophistication of Autodesk’s Revit software.
